For Pennsylvania Agents
If you live in Pennsylvania and want to become a licensed salesperson and join our team at eXp, here’s how it works:
1. Complete your pre-licensing education
Through The CE Shop you’ll take the required 75-hour Pennsylvania salesperson pre-licensing course. (The CE Shop)
Once you finish, you’ll prepare for and pass the state licensing exam. (US Realty Training)

2. Pass the licensing exam and apply for your salesperson license
After education you submit the application via the Pennsylvania Licensing System (PALS), pay application fees (for example: $107 includes license/application fees) in PA. (US Realty Training)

3. Join eXp Realty under our team sponsorship
Once licensed, you affiliate with eXp as your broker. We’ll assist you through that process and plug you into our team resources, mentoring, marketing, training and the virtual platform that eXp offers.

4. Plug into our team culture & business launch

For Agents in Other States
If you’re licensed in another state or in the process of becoming licensed outside Pennsylvania (or migrating from another state), here’s your path:
1. Check your state’s licensing & affiliation requirements
Use The CE Shop to complete your state’s necessary pre-licensing or licensure-transfer education. The CE Shop supports many states. (The CE Shop)
After finishing education and passing any required exam(s), apply for your license via your state’s regulatory body.
2. Join eXp Realty via Shaina McAndrews
Once you are licensed in your state, you can affiliate with eXp, join via Shaina McAndrews, get access to the eXp platform, tools, training and network.
If you want to be on a team in your area, reach out to Shaina for help interviewing and placement.
3. Launch your business with our support
Similar to PA agents, you’ll gain from our community’s training, peer network, lead strategies, marketing plan, and the leverage of eXp’s global brand.

While each state differs, you should plan for:
Pre-licensing education: often $300-$600+ (The CE Shop)
State exam & application/licensing fees: variable, often $50-$200+
First year association/MLS fees: depending on region, perhaps $500-$2,000+

Budgeting roughly $1,000 to $3,000 (or more in high-cost markets) is prudent for year-one.

Q: How long does it take to get licensed in PA?
A: After completing the 75-hour pre-licensing course you schedule and pass the exam, apply for your license, and reach out to Shaina@MontCoLiving.com to get the application instructions to join eXp Realty with her as your sponsor. With focused effort many complete in a few weeks to a couple months depending on scheduling.
Q: How many deals do I need to do before I see income?
A: Real-estate is commission-based. Many new agents take a few months to build up leads, listings, and deals. Your first year is often investment year: budget for expenses and business build-up.
Q: What does eXp charge in fees?
A: Reach out to Shaina for the latest info. If you join as an independent agent, you will pay $85 per month, and 20% out of commissions until you cap at $16k. If you join on a team, you will pay $85 per month and 20% out of commissions until you cap at $8k plus pay team splits. Please note, eXp provides your CRM, Canva Pro, and many other tech perks worth more than that amount.
Q: What ongoing costs should I expect?
A: Continuing education every 2 years, renewal fees, association and MLS dues, lock-box fees, technology/marketing costs. In PA, annual costs in our market can run ~$800-$1,200 or more.
