Step 2: Complete 75 Hours of Pre-Licensing Education The NJ Real Estate Commission requires one 75-hour salesperson pre-licensing course from an approved provider.

Step 3: Pass the School Exam and State Exam After completing your course, you must pass the school exam, then the PSI-administered state exam. The state exam fee is $45.

Step 5: Apply for Your License Through a Sponsoring Broker Once you've passed the exam and your background check clears, your sponsoring broker will help you submit your application.
